Bible study 6-29-30 Many preachers talk of saving souls. They talk of saving souls and then condemn the flesh. The flesh and spirit are not reliant on each other. What do we do when another denomination or religion comes to our home and asks us to join them? Speaking from experience, don’t run them off. We are supposed to be hospitable. We may entertain angels or even Christ unaware. Next know that if it is another Christian denomination then let them know you are a Christian and don’t argue over the law or traditions. Scripture says as long as you have Christ don’t argue over the law. If it is another religion know that there is only one God and that you worship him. You can agree to disagree. Does God recycle? He refers to us as clay. He had Jeremiah go to the potter and watch. He had me do the same. Prior to the clay being cured for firing, it is still malleable. If you mess up in what you want to create you can put the clay back into the source and it is reused. If pottery (clay after it has been through the firing process) breaks then the Japanese have a method where they use gold to weld the pottery back together creating beautiful works of art. The word of God is sharper than a two edged sword. Why a two edged sword? They had single edged swords in those days that were just as sharp. They had razors or knives that were used for shaving that were sharp. Why a two edged sword? Because it cuts both ways wounding the wielder as well as the one it is used against. Are you wielding a sword of mercy and forgiveness or a sword of death and condemnation? Jesus said that, “With man this is impossible but, with God all things are possible.” Now read it this way, “With man alone this is impossible but, with man and God, all things are possible.” It was never meant to be an exclusion of man. Our churches sounds a lot like the prophecy that spoke of the church in the latter days having a form of religion but denying the power there of. We shrug our shoulders and say, “it was the will of God.” What happened to our will? What about our partnership with God? Read about the Philistines and how the Israelites were constantly battling them. It is a play on words. Every generation fears the Philistines. Those dang rebellious “teens” are so disrespectful. They listen to weird music and don’t dress the way we did. How dare they do away with our traditions? It was the teens from the Great Depression that fought in WWII. It was the teens from the 50’s that started Rock and Roll. It was the teens from the 60’s that fought against racism. It was the teens from the 70’s and 80’s that began the computer age and Rap music. Every generation has their teens. It is a part of life. Quit living in fear of them. You were one once. Jesus is the truth and the truth will set you free. What is the truth? Jesus? In computer programing that is what is known as a fatal loop. All you do is go around in circles. The truth is mankind is already righteous in his eyes because of what he did on the cross. You are free to do as you please. Know that you will be judged according to your works and your own judgments not according to who you are sleeping with. If you accuse you will be made to drink from the same cup of the one you accuse. Almost everyone knows about Jesus. The demons in hell believe and fear. Is it enough to just state your belief? Yes, but there is more. Does Jesus know you? He said, these are the ones I know. Those that give to the poor, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and visit the sick and imprisoned. Remember the woman that anointed Jesus prior to his passion. It is a memorial to her that she shall be mentioned wherever the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached.
