Bible study: Suffering. Suffering is inevitable. In fact, it is promised! For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. Moreover, Acts 14:22 We must through much tribulation enter into the Kingdom of God. Jesus told us it is the: Narrow road, & if it be narrow, that suggests hardships. Many prosperity preachers wish to pollute your theology, promising you life of success, prosperity, & free of pain. & it is said: if you are suffering you arent in the will of God. But Gods Word begs to differ! Was not Jesus in the Fathers will when He got crucified? Was not Job in the will of God when the Lord said to the devil: hast thou considered my servant Job? (Job 1:8). And the pain we find Job suffering is great! He said: For the thing which I greatly fear is come upon me (Job 3:25); my soul chooseth strangling, & death rather than my life (Job 7:15); wearisome nights are appointed to me (Job 7:3); my harp also is turned to mourning, & my organ into the voice of them that weep (Job 30:31); Oh that my grief were thoroughly weighed, & my calamity laid in the balances together! For now it be heavier than the sand of the sea (Job 6:2,3). So you see saint? Suffering is promised! But faint not! For you are:Kept by the power of God (1 Peter 1:5). And although the devil has asked the Lord to: sift you as wheat, the one who is at:the right hand of God & also is interceeding for us has prayed for us that: our faith fail us not. So my brother/sister: think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you. (1 Peter 4:12). It is not strange saint! For regarding bad & good times: God has made the one as well as the other. (ecc 7:14). So remain strong, this wont last forever. For many are the afflictions of the rightouess, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. So now:the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. (1 Pet 5:10).
