BibleEtcJanuary182014 I am committed daily to reading two pages of the Old Testament; one page of the New; something from the Qur’an; and a hadith. OT from a Bible Survey I had put together, with twelves sessions for a Muslim/Christian group. Exodus 12:14-23 The feast of Passover will be kept for seven days; during that time there will be no leaven/yeast. Stay inside when God has the destroyer (angel of death…CEV) pass over. Mark 9:2-29. Jesus on a high mountain is transfigured/transformed. His robes are glistening white. God speaks: this is my beloved son. Elijah, the for runner, has already come. Jesus heals a mute boy. Demons can only be cast out by prayer. Quran. 3. Verses 100-109 Whoever follows God will be guided on a straight path. Q 103 Hold on to God’s rope, and do not be split into factions. You were enemies; God brought you together by His grace. Hold to what is right, do not split into factions. I see Bible echoes from Matthew 3:13-14, Colossians 1:21 and Galatians 5:15 Hadith. Sahib al Bukhari. Book 2/ Chapter 25/ verse 36 Page 70 Those who fast during Ramadan, with sincere faith and wanting to please Allah/God will have their sins forgiven. Weight on home scale. 259# (so I have dropped another pound.) My weight will be 217 or lower on Jan 1, 2015, and at some point after that 167. Right now, I am 31 pounds under my gross 290, and have 92 pounds of fat and blubber to lose to get down to 167. Yesterday Richard came into town (Addie’s son) and we visited his mother at supper; today back to Williston Rehab for 10 am which is about when she will get up; and we will have lunch. I will leave at 3:15 pm to pick someone up and go to the Hymn Sing and Spaghetti dinner at Holy Trinity, Gainesville, tonight.
