Biblical food for thought did you know that pre tribe rapture was never thought prior to 1830 and was started by John Nelson Darby and he had no scripture to back it. It was only a theory of his. Than later Dr. Scofield published it and presented it as fact in the Scofield bible note again it is not based on actual scripture but on a theory. It has been made a poplar belief through big name pastors, preachers and big name movies. As a result the pre tribe rapture even today is not even in scripture but is just a mere traditional belief that has no scriptural backing. In fact of all the scriptures that even mention the rapture and/or the second coming only 3 references in Matthew, Mark, John, and 2 thess mention any kind of time frame this even will take place. Matthew, Mark, and John states after the tribulation and 2 thess stated sometime after a great falling away of the faith and after the son of perdition AKA the antichrist is reveled. In fact lets take a look at one of the most popular if not the most popular scriptures used to defend pre trib rapture and see if it even implies pre tribe. Here it is 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Now my question is how in the world can anyone say this is talking about this being pre trib when there is absolutely no time frame mentioned as to where in tribe this takes place within this passage?
