BigWills monthly rant: Vacuum cleaners......who knew? Well I certainly didnt until I saw it on the news that some EU law maker in their infinite wisdom had decided that the way to save the planet was to reduce the suction on our vacuum cleaners to a maximum of 1600 watts from today..........and lest we suck the curtains off the window with even that amount of power there is a further proposal to reduce that even further to 900 watts later on! So let me see if Ive got this right, instead of spending 10 minutes doing the job with a powerful vacuum cleaner, we now need to spend three quarters of an hour on the job cursing in frustration cause we have to keep going over the same stubborn bit of dirt that the ridiculous underpowered piece of shit wont suck up anymore! :-( ........and then theres some Sheila on the TV this morning saying we have to reduce our meat consumption cause were cutting down the rain forest to graze cattle on it! (Or I THINK that was the gist of what she was saying?) Well pardon me but I think my Aberdeen Angus beef came from Aberdeen ducky and not the bleedin rainforest last time I checked so whats THAT all about! OK, I think I need a fry to stop me being grumpy.......and before anyone says anything about the environment, me sausages came from Cookstown ok, not the bleedin Amazon! ;-)
