Biggish supper tonight for a number of birthdays in the street. Not looking likely to be sunny and warm and standing in the garden sort of weather. Shed beginning to feel like a room... most of the painting is done, at least one coat. and though until that is finished I cant bring in the old oriental rugs I mean to put there and the whole thing is rather empty..... good when there are lots of guests but spartan when there are only a few. Three dishes Salad Nicoise -- a pile of mini lamb chops/chicken thighs and sausages probably not barbcued because of the weather-- and a big pot of vegetarian tomatoes beans and a few peppers. Lots of bread and green salad. and cake and candles and fruit to follow and a cheese platter
