That morning, join thousands of San Diegans and stop by one of 97 pit stops around the county to pick up a FREE Bike to Work Day t-shirt and refuel with free snacks and plenty of encouragement. Register for the chance to win. If you haven’t already, register for Bike to Work Day and log your bike trips in TripTracker. You will be automatically entered to win one of many great prizes, including the grand prize – a new bicycle!When you continue to bike to work and log your trips throughout May, you will be entered into the final Bike to Work Month prize drawing. Logging your trips also helps provide important information about biking trends and shows support for bike facilities. Every trip counts. Did you know every bicycle trip you make helps SANDAG plan for the future? SANDAG and San Diego State University have partnered to manage the Bike Counter Network. Thirty-seven strategic locations in the San Diego region have bicycle and pedestrian counters that help SANDAG better understand the region’s patterns associated with walking and cycling. This data will support the development of improved measures of cycling and walking safety, health benefits of active travel, and traveler preferences for various facility types.
