Bill Grider, Greenville Public Works Director, shared this info on the boil order (and its cause)... "The purpose for the boil order issued today. The contractor doing work on Hena St. was back filling with rock around the 10" water main and accidentally hit it. Water flowed into the sewer lines and causing flooding of the system. Public works crews had to install a new section of pipe. The boil order was issued City-wide because several people scattered around town experienced little to no water pressure before we could shut the mains down. Test results will be received back tomorrow (Thursday) and hopefully the boil order will be lifted in the afternoon."
