Bill Kushner reads Robert Frost from his book, Walking After - TopicsExpress

Bill Kushner reads Robert Frost from his book, Walking After Midnight published by Spuyten Duyvil, NYC, 2011. Robert Frost wore a great gray suit and he read to us in a deeply resonant voice, for about an hour. The Y on 92nd St. had a room set aside where we who bought his book could go inside and have him, Robert Frost, autograph it. Nervous, I myself was just a nervous kid, the thought of going to meet this great poet made me so nervous, just to say, “Would you sign it for me? My name is William.” Ladies, mostly ladies were on the line so when he, Robert Frost saw me, he looked surprised. “So you like poetry, he, Robert Frost, he asked me. “Your poetry, yes sir,” I said. “Studied you in school, your Mending Walls and Stopping by Woods. Yes, and maybe someday, if I study hard, I’ll be a poet, too.” Robert Frost smiled, took my book, great poet, and he quickly signed it, “To William, with thanks for stopping by. Robert Frost.” https://vimeo/90151975
