A lot of money can be made from youtube videos; maybe a wealthy person who is already an investor has to stay involved. The challenge is probably a diversion tactic; it is very easy to have a proper evaluation done by a third party without divulging secrets. Wasif expects very few, if any, serious acceptances to the challenge. As to the we will open source it when our own people have it first, that too is counter productive: Wasifs group has a long headstart and could have a monopoly on the device in Pakistan. If it really worked, an agreement can be made with a company to supply Pakistan first, and having lower production costs from mass production will result in a more affordable product in Pakistan, which benefits the Pakistani people.
