Bill Wilson ?!? Really ?!? Since we have started our campaign, - TopicsExpress

Bill Wilson ?!? Really ?!? Since we have started our campaign, for all the reasons stated in previous post, not a week has gone by the people have not voiced a complaint against the Sheriff and/or his office. As a candidate, I chose not to post each and every complaint, as I felt it would be a constant list of negative posts, and we as a campaign are trying to avoid that, as difficult as Sheriff Campbell makes that. These complaints have come from a variety of sources, to include personal, telephone and facebook posts, actual activity heard on the scanner, concerned voters, and yes even from within the Sheriff’s Office. In general, some of the complaints voiced have been about dispatch asking a caller, who was asking for assistance “who do you want me to send”, preferential treatment of certain inmates, poor security involving inmates, “Does the Sheriff ever work?”, is the K-9 and Handler actually certified ? (I can not answer that questions at this time), the upcoming trial in which our campaign and many others feel is nothing more than the Sheriff trying to place blame where it does not belong, etc. There are many other examples, but this most recent, I felt, needed to be commented on. Recently the current Chief Deputy and newest hire at the Sheriff’s Office were having a discussion while at the local Pizza Hut. Apparently this discussion was not considered to be sensitive information, as others in the public area overheard the discussion and wanted to make us aware of the content of the discussion. The discussion between the Chief Deputy and the employee were negative statements including past and current employees of the Sheriff’s office, the Sheriff and the Sheriff’s wife, and other topics. People have been fired from the Sheriff‘s Office for this type of activity alleged by Sheriff Campbell. This would not only be viewed as a personal attack by the Sheriff (which is a very common occurrence….meaning the Sheriff taking things personal and taking disciplinary action against employees, or threatening citizens, etc.), it would also be a violation of the Sheriff’s Office own confidentiality agreement, that all employees sign. When this overheard conversation, between the Chief Deputy and new employee, was brought to an ex-employee’s attention, that ex-employee was rightfully offended. This information and the fact that the person was very offended, was brought to these Sheriff Office employee’s attention. In the very early morning hours, shortly after a text had been sent to express dissatisfaction to the Chief Deputy, a restricted call came in on that ex-employee’s phone. After some prodding, the caller (who’s voice is known by the ex-employee) stated he was trying to call Bill…..Bill Wilson, must have the wrong number and hung up. The person who made that call was an employee of the Sheriff’s Office. Shortly thereafter, the Chief Deputy responded to the ex-employee, via text message, indicating he did not want to be part of the drama and other things. Chief Deputy, I say to you, you bring your own “drama” onto yourself. When you openly speak of your Sheriff, employees and past employees in a negative manner, for the general public to hear, you should expect to hear about it. You speak of a person’s character, yet you have an employee make a restricted call, and use a false name of Bill Wilson, while trying to identify who sent you a text expressing extreme displeasure with you and your actions. Your activities last night and the Sheriff’s activities and actions over the past few years, is exactly why our campaign exists. The improper, unethical, unprofessional and in some cases illegal activity within the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office are an embarrassment to Law Enforcement. Based on the overwhelming majority of feedback our campaign is getting from the voters, they agree with this and feel it is time to restore Professionalism, Pride, Ethics and Accountability to the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office by Voting Kelly Williams for Merrick County Sheriff.
