Bill update! So the latest on his leg prior to surgery this afternoon was that the new knee froze up this morning. He could not move it at all. It was also a good inch or two shorter than the right one. We got into the car and it just stuck out and hovered over the floor. He didnt have any pain, so that was a blessing. I just spoke to the surgeon and everything went well. They removed the rest of his femur and added pieces to it like Leggos and included the hip joint. Then he opened the knee and was able to manipulate it. The surgeon feels that it became locked due to the difference in the length of his legs. He assured me that he has two legs that are the same length again and that he should be able to walk (with a walker) and put weight on it with less upper body work. He said it will take a few days to get used to the hip joint, but I am hoping and praying that this surgery will be less painful than the previous 7.
