Billy Joe Blevins (September 10, 1954 - April 1, 2014) Mr. Billy Joe Blevins, Jr., age 59 of Oneida, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2014 at his home. Born in Scott County, TN on September 10, 1954, he was the son of Rev. Bill Blevins, Sr. and wife Lorene Carson Blevins. Mr. Blevins made a profession of faith in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Lawrence and Pearl Blevins, and Claude and Vessie Carson; father-in-law: Jim New; one uncle: J. D. Blevins; three aunts: Ruth Burress, Flonnie Phillips and Barbara King; and sister-in-law: Greta New Reed. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife: Ginger New Blevins; son: Billy Joe Blevins, III; 2 daughters: Jacqueline Adams and her son Tyler, and Lachrisa Adams and her children Gretta, Gage and Caleb; two sisters: Kathy Terry and husband Jr., Donna Stephens and husband Angie; one brother: Bob Blevins and wife Pam; 2 Nieces: Jodi Lowe and Kerri Harness; 5 nephews: Jared Terry, Justin Terry, Kelly Marcum, Nathan Blevins and David Blevins; one special cousin who was as close as a brother: Jim Phillips and wife Jacqueline; a lifelong friend: Norman Honeycutt; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 6:00 PM until time of funeral services at 8:00 PM in the Chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home in Oneida with Bro. Wayne King and Bro. Larry Jackson officiating. Music will be provided by the Pine Creek Young People and Steve New. Mr. Blevins will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Marcum-Kidd Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jim Phillips, Jared Terry, Justin Terry, Kelly Marcum, Nathan Blevins and David Blevins. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Norman Honeycutt. West-Murley Funeral Home of Oneida is serving the family of Mr. Billy Joe Blevins, Jr.
