Birth & Flight To Egypt Matthew 1-3 The genealogy of Jesus starts with Abraham in whom the covenant and the promise was given. All the rest are the prophecies that were fulfilled. God is proving to us that what He hath said and what is written is word will be fulfilled in its proper time. The scripture also tells us that God is not slow in keeping His promise. The title that was given to Him is God with us. God hath been silent for hundreds of years until He revealed Himself again and by that name. For me it simply says that in those times that they never heard from God, He never left and He hath been with us all the time and will always be with us. He hath promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. His flight to Egypt is also a good example of how God preserves His people. Nothing will happen to you unless God permits it. NO FEAR should be the theme of every Disciples of Christ. Here it also teaches us that even though we have knowledge, it does’nt really mean that we have faith. Here the religious leaders knew about the prophecies but never gave attention or honor to their Messiah. Jesus also taught us submission. Even though He is the Son of God, He submitted Himself to baptism by John the Baptist. God is always true to His promises. He protects His people. He teaches us submission t those He hath appointed to do the task.
