Birth control pills are also used to manage flow and cramps during your period. In some countries girls who start their menstruation are told that it’s the work of the devil. Here in more “educated” countries we still hold a lot of stigma and misconception about birth control and menstruation. Use of birth control does not mean your daughter, sister or friend are open for business. A woman’s menstrual cycle is also nothing to be embarrassed by or is it a secret spooky private matter. I even had a conversation about this with a friend’s daughter when she mocked her fellow classmates who were taking the pill. I got in a lot of trouble for that. Which begs the question…why are you not educating your daughter on this? Or schools for that matter? This mentality makes us no different than those who hide their daughters away for seven days while she expels the demons inside her.
