Birth doesnt end pregnancy... breastfeeding completes the birth process (which we know, doesnt stop with the baby... you still have the placenta and a whole lot more going on for about six weeks) and as such begins motherhood. You cannot separate the two and imagine the same beginning. Breastfeeding a lot in those early days is not only because the baby needs your constant connection - but also because you need to rest and heal! Oxytocin helps involution of the uterus and so so much more!
