“Birth of the Cool” is considered a major landmark in the development of jazz Conceived by Miles Davis and Gil Evans it was a departure from the frenetic pace and complex variations of bebop which had taken the jazz world by storm a decade earlier when Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie hit the scene.
