Birthplace of Spring Hope-Part 4 We will close out this series with few more views of the General Crenshaw House, circa 1840. Just to be sure, this house is in the Stan Hope Community rather than Spring Hope but is included here because he figured so highly in Spring Hopes early history. This view of the house from the rear shows further additions to the place with the original 2 story section just barely able to be seen here. The school which sat out back was in very bad condition with heavy termite damage and the new owner felt it best to dismantle it. The doctors office remains standing and is being used as a small shop. One curious factor is that the openings for an old double door entrance are facing away from the house. This makes one wonder if it might have been moved from a different area on the property and turned in the opposite direction but with no known photos or records to confirm this we can only speculate.
