Bishop Bakare spoke of Zimbabwe as the present day children of Israel who have been through two sieges from Egypt and Babylon. He spoke of how God through His sent and chosen ones, Moses and Nehemiah redeemed them from bondage. He noted that during their time of bondage, Jerusalem was desolate, likening it to the state of our nation now. Sanballat the army commando of Babylon during that time mobilised his army generals to destruct the rebuilding process which God had assigned Nehemiah to lead the Israelites to do. Nehemiah assured the children of Israel that God in His fullness is behind them and is ready to grant them victory over the enemy. Bishop Bakare moved on to say that MDC’s President Tsvangirai is our present day Nehemiah. He further urged all Zimbabweans from all walks of life to rally in commitment behind President Tsvangirai. He also noted that we need humble people with love to lead us into a new Zimbabwe, saying that an open palm is used to rebuild compared to a closed fist which is used to destroy. He thanked God and called upon Him to usher our nation into a new Zimbabwe which we all need.
