Bistec Empanizado (Breaded Fried Cube Steak) Ingredients: 1 small onion, chopped ... 3 cloves Garlic, Minced salt & pepper to taste dash of oregano 1 tablespoon white vinegar 2 tablespoons olive oil 4 whole cubed steaks 4 whole eggs, beaten Vegetable Oil, For Frying 1 package (about 4 Oz. Sleeve) Unsalted Soda Crackers for breading or use plain already made bread crumbs. Directions: Combine onion, garlic, black pepper, salt, oregano, vinegar, and olive oil in a bowl and whisk together. Place the steaks in the marinade and marinate overnight. Place crackers into a food processor and pulse until finely ground or use the already made bread crumbs to bread the steaks. Dip each steak in the egg mixture on both sides, and then coat them evenly with the cracker crumbs on both sides. Bread all the steaks before frying. Fry in oil, over medium high for about 2 minutes on each side. Fry in the skillet until steak is golden brown and well done. Drain excess oil on paper towels. This goes best with white rice, beans and a salad. Or you can serve with French fries.
