Bittermen is a new experimental live artwork and soap opera by - TopicsExpress

Bittermen is a new experimental live artwork and soap opera by artist Rehana Zaman that explores the changing nature of work over the past 30 years. Interviews with former employees of the decommissioned Tetley Brewery have been transformed into a six-part melodrama that includes international takeovers, backhanders, strikes, beer contamination and a love story. We are seeking collaboration with actors to develop the script through rehearsal, to take part in open rehearsals and be available for filming in August. A small fee is available for actors taking part as well as a copy of the final film and an acting credit. The final film will be presented in an exhibition in autumn at The Tetley, a new centre for Contemporary Art housed in the former Tetleys Brewery Headquarters, Leeds as well as other contemporary art venues nationwide in 2015. Initial meetings will be held on Monday 9th June Thursday 19th June Friday 20th June at The Tetley. Interested actors must be available for several days in July and August. Exact dates tbc.
