Black-crowned Waxbill (Estrilda nonnula) is a common species of estrildid finch found in western-central Africa. It has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 1,000,000 km². It is found in Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, The Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania & Uganda. The status of the species is evaluated as Least Concern.
