Black folks using all of our skills and intellectual capital to - TopicsExpress

Black folks using all of our skills and intellectual capital to enrich other races and not our own, is because we prefer the easy road of a steady and stable job, rather than the unpredictability, hassles, and risk of failure that comes with entrepreneurialism. Moreover, alot of us dont have the expertise to successfully navigate business complexities such as marketing, accounting, inventory, investment, people management, etc, so we avoid the idea of self-employment. However, times are changing. Black people, we can no longer remain cogs in a system that wasnt designed for us. Millions of black people are tired of being a spoke on the wheel. We want to be the wheel that turns the spoke. We dont want to be the thermometer that reads the temperature; we want to be the thermostat that sets the temperature. Black folks, the time is now that we have to go into business for ourselves. But before we take that leap, we have to get prepared. We have to educate ourselves about business, finance, marketing, etc, so that we can be equipped with the know-how of navigating the complexities of running a business. As a former entrepreneur, I can tell you that when you run your own business, you gain a sense of pride and value about yourself that you have never experienced before, and which noone can take away from you. And once that pride is combined with the know-how, then you become unstoppable. So as we approach the new year, I encourage those of you with steady jobs to think about a few things. Think about how your mind, your skills, your talent, and your intellectual capital are being used to serve the wealthy few and a capital system that is not inclusive of your people, and how you can transfer your skills and talent to directly enrich black people who are just like you. Think about the sense of gratification you will feel at the end of the day, knowing that you helped your own people, compated to how you feel now. Think about how you can go into business for yourself. If you are in need of guidance, mentorship, or encouragement, feel free to hit me up. #BRSUnited, #NotOneDime
