Black people do have a right to be mad at the murder of Michael - TopicsExpress

Black people do have a right to be mad at the murder of Michael Brown. Particularly the black people of Ferguson MO. And given that rage, now is the perfect time to talk about what do with that rage. Which is part o the wider conversation of what Black America should do to make American democracy work for Black America. The answer is one word: VOTE. No, it is actually three words: 1. VOTE. 2. VOTE. 3. VOTE. That is what BLACK people in Ferguson did not do in the last election. And that is what they need to do in the next election unless they want to have a city government and a Police force run by people who have all but declared war on Fergusons Black population. Fergusons population is 70% Black and the Police Chief is a white man who clearly wants to whitewash this brutal murder of an unarmed college bound young man a few minutes from his own doorsteps. This happened because in the last election only 10% of eligible voters voted in Ferguson. Locals who know say that Blacks were not even proportionately represented in that dismally low turnout. The way to make democracy work for you is YOU VOTE. Actually you do three things: 1. YOU VOTE. 2. YOU VOTE. 3. YOU VOTE. IN SHORT, we have the mess in Ferguson because we dont vote. Forge that justified rage into a resolve to do your civic duty in Ferguson and vote in people and a police force who will protect you instead of mow down your innocent young men on your streets. VOTING is how you make American democracy work for you and your community. AND VOTE IN THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS. No, do three things. Do I really have to repeat myself?
