Blake brings in some help from Ashley Monroe on this one. Great choice. There probably are hotter stars in country music right now, but Blake Shelton has bee at the top for a really long time. His consistency the last few years has been remarkable. He’s right in the middle of another run on The Voice. That seems to be going very well and Blake is coming off yet another number one. He’s had number one hits dating all the way back to 2009. That’s crazy. This one sounds like another one. Lonely Tonight – Blake Shelton Blake’s first good move on this song was bringing in Ashley Monroe for the harmonies on this one. She has such a great voice and a unique voice that it really adds some great depth to the song. It’s a love song about two people that are maybe out there drifting alone. But they might be coming to the realization that they don’t need to be alone if they decide to be together. The cool thing about the song is that it could take on a few different stories and situations. I think people will connect with that aspect of it and they’ll love that it’s a great song with good lyrics and a catchy melody. When you hear Blake giving out those tips to the performers on The Voice you definitely know that he knows what he’s talking about.
