Blessed Savior, from Your side did flow the water of life. O Lord, my Lord, hear my prayer and water the parched paradise of my heart with Your rivers of grace. Let me never trade this holy water of heaven for the waters of wantonness, the puddles of pleasures or the currents of immorality. Where my eyes become ‘fountains of tears’(Jr 9:1), remind me that You are the well of salvation. When the bitter waters of this world bring me to despair, let the sweet waters of Your life flow and fill my heart to overflowing. When spiritual thirst afflicts my heart, do not leave me like the rich man in hell, crying in vain for a drop of water, but refresh my heart with a single droplet of Your sweet grace. Purify the pitcher of my heart and fill it to the brim from the well of Your salvation. Lead me by Your Holy Spirit to pour me this water forth at home, at work and everywhere. Do not allow me to neglect it through carelessness, but to make faithful use of this water, pouring it forth in my prayers and my crosses, and sharing its life reviving comforts with others under their crosses. This I pour forth in Your holy name. Amen.
