Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, - TopicsExpress

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3 Gods Word is specific when telling us not to seek counsel from the world or as His Word says, ungodly, but time and time again we find ourselves going to those that have no knowledge of the Word, asking for their counsel or direction. Why would God tell us not to seek counsel from the ungodly? Those that do not know the Lord are going to give us their opinion or worldly counsel, instead of the Word of God. When I am asked for counsel I give scriptural backing of what I say. People can argue with you, but they cannot argue the Word of God, yet, many do so. In this passage of scripture, God also tells us to separate ourselves from sinners, yet we continue to fellowship with those that choose to walk in darkness. If we are not careful we will become like those we are around. I knew a friend, that told me she continually went after this one woman, seeking to help her, even going to the bars and fellowshipping with the world. Well, it wasnt long until she became a part of the worldly life, even justifying her sin. Last I heard, she had totally turned her back on the Lord. We cannot fellowship with sin and not think we will be exempt from it. Sin will touch our life, if we choose to become a part of it. This is where we need to stand for the Word and God, not giving place to Satan. We can never justify when we go against The Bible, but Satan sure can give us a lot of reasons to do so. I want to be solidly planted in the Word of God, never giving place to Satan or His Kingdom of Darkness. How about you????
