Blessed with perspective....so I shipped a new suv out here...only had 350 miles on it when I finally got it here...I like a clean car. So in the compound is a young 33 yrold guy from Nepal whos job is strictly a car washer. He has a traveling wash assembly on wheels and goes around washing cars (cause they seriously need it). As I am talking to him, he tells me he has a wife and a 6 yr old girl and a 3.5 yr old...much like me, but has not been home in a year. The company pays him 800 Qatari dollars a month (220 US dollars) and sends home 1000 Qatari dollars (275 usd) a month due to tips...it cost me 20 QAR (5.50 usd) to have him wash it which is company rate...takes him about 30 min or so inside and out. Way better than the $75 plus at a detailer and he does a better job!!! I pay him 30 QAR or so...hes washing a car that would feed his family for God knows how many years...perspective...and feeling quite blessed.
