Bloody Roar 2 was one of the only fighting games I found addictive as a kid with others. What made this game interesting is each character could transform into an animal, and had a separate set of special moves that could use after the animal transformation. However, you had to build up energy as a normal human in order to transform. This required taking few hits from the opponent, yet doing well in the fight. Two equally matched opponents could both transform during the match, and the fights would be fairly close. The Mole character was far superior to the other characters, and anyone who knew the game mastered the mole, and if you had two skilled players, it would be mole vs mole, and you never knew who would win.
