Blooms Day on the 16th of June is celebrated as a holiday by scholars and fans of Ulysses, the novel by James Joyce. It was on this day that the events of the novel took place in Dublin in 1904. Blooms Day is named after Leopold Bloom - a Hungarian, the middle-aged advertising salesman who is the protagonist of the famous book by Joyce, which was published in 1922. Come along in the fashion of 1904 or in your own country traditional costume if you wish. There will be some readings from Ulysses with a special recital by Dénes Dosztán (Violinist, Pianist and Teacher denesdosztan ) of Irish Melodies and Hungarian music that was played in Hungary and Ireland in 1904 Organised by the Irish in Europe Association (International) AISBL (Incorporating the Brussels Saint Patrick’s Day Parade Committee) Irish and Hungarian Tourist Information Stand at Event All are welcome!
