Charleston Road, Matteson, was charged with possession of marijuana after being questioned by police July 10 in that same block, police said. RETAIL THEFT: Christopher Hamilton, 27, of Kankakee, was charged with retail theft and driving on a suspended license after stealing $207 worth of clothing July 20 from Carson Pirie Scott at Lincoln Mall, police said. THEFT: A GPS unit and a headset wee stolen July 21 from a semi-trailer truck at Manheim Chicago Auto, 20401 Cox Ave. POT POSSESSION: Jerry Bond, 21, 13610 Turner Ave., Robbins, was charged with possession of marijuana and parking on a crosswalk after being questioned by police July 21 in the 5500 block of Allemong Drive, police said. PARK FOREST THEFT: A 14-year-old Park Forest boy told police someone stole his iPod Touch from a drawstring bag July 14 at Park Forest Aqua Center, 39 N. Orchard Drive. GUN THREAT: A homeowner told police four young men in a red sport utility vehicle followed his 23-year-old son home to the 100 block of Algonquin Street July 15, and one of them threatened the father with a handgun before they fled in the vehicle. THEFT: A lawn mower was stolen July 17 from a house in the 100 block of Elm Street, despite the owner having chained it to her front porch. VAN BURGLARY: Basketball shoes, socks, shorts and T-shirts were stolen July 17 from a Ford van belonging to a traveling youth basketball team while the van was parked outside the apartment of a friend of the team’s coach in the 100 block of East Sycamore Drive. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: A 12-year-old Park Forest boy told police he was attacked by two classmates from Huth Junior High School when they lured him outside of a neighbor’s home in the 100 block of Indiana Street on July 18, punched and kicked him in the face and attempted to take his cellphone. The boys fled when a neighbor of the victim came to his aid. BURGLARY: A handheld computer and a printer were stolen July 17 or 18 from a truck in the first block of Abbey Lane. DOMESTIC BATTERY: Brandon Finley, 27, 329 Gentry St., Park Forest, was charged with domestic battery, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana after a July 19 incident at his home, police said. THEFT: A dishwasher, microwave oven and refrigerator were stolen from a rental house in the first block of South Orchard Drive sometime prior to July 19, when the tenant moved out. THEFT: A cloth bag containing a cellphone and an iPod was stolen July 21 from the women’s locker room at Park Forest Aqua Center, 30 N. Orchard Drive. BURGLARY TRY: A landscaping brick was used to shatter a window July 22 at Family Dollar, 108 S. Orchard Drive, in an attempted burglary, police said.
