Bo Duke February 23, 2003 - May 16, 2014 Sometimes we dont realize how full our hearts can be until a piece gets broken. Thats how I felt a week ago when we lost our 11 year old lab Bo duke. From an adorable puppy, all ears and clumsy feet, to a 130 pound Man Dog, moaning and groaning, lazy and stubborn, no fuss, no grooming please! and no lovins unless requested. Bo Duke definitely was a personality all on his own! He was the only dog Ive ever seen who could and would roll his eyes and he had the biggest doggie grin Id ever seen. He couldve been in the movies! Those eyebrows of his let you know exactly what was on his mind, and he was smart enough to know exactly what was on ours. He loved to play pranks on me, like at bath time, he would be good until I got him covered in bubbles, then hed take off running, or if he had muddy paws he would make sure just to get enough pawprints on the floor before hed lay down on the blanket to dry out. Ornery! But he had a good heart, never mean to anybody or the other animals, even his brother. Bo didnt let alot get to him. And when he got happy or excited, he lit up the place, wed get excited or happy too. He loved Christmas just like a child. We have a CD of dogs barking Christmas carols, Bo would howl along too, and he was always right there in front at present time, knowing there was always a new toy and treat under the tree for him, too. And when someone walked through the door, Bo would be there with a toy in his mouth to greet them. One or two throws and he was happy, his way of saying Hello! I cant believe its been a month since he greeted me at the door that last time, or that its been a week since he passed away. His nose prints are still on the windows, his bowls are still on the floor and one precious paw print in ink beside his ashes, serves as a reminder that we were blessed when God let us borrow Bo duke and now that hes gone, things will never be the same.
