Bob Hatcher Honored With Freed Bald Eagle This Morning Region II Note: Please consider watching the local news stations tonight for a report on Hatchers Legacy that was released today at Bells Bend Park in Nashville (Scottsboro). A large gathering of Bob Hatcher family, friends, and news media gathered to see the release of this young bald eagle named after, and in honor of, Bob Hatcher, who headed the non-game (watchable wildlife) program at TWRA for decades. Bob is seriously ill and was unable to attend the ceremony organized by the American Eagle Foundation and TWRA. It was a ceremony that heaped praise on Bob Hatcher for his his dedication to restoring bald eagles to Tennessee and many other animals during his long career with TWRA. Those who know Bob also know that he would not have cared to hear so much about his successful career as much as hearing about wildlife that has been successfully restored to its native habitat in the Volunteer State. Hatchers Legacy is wearing an orange band beneath its left wing with the letters HL4 (Hatchers Legacy 2014). It is an immature eagle and only beginning to show indications of the white feathers that about 5 years from now will turn this bird into the American symbol we all love. Every time you see a bald eagle anywhere in Tennessee, realize that Bob Hatcher, from now through eternity, had something to do with those special few moment you enjoy.
