Bob reminded me today that it will be 10 years ago tomorrow that our daughter Maddie Salyer had brain surgery when she was 18 months old. It was was a brain abscess, which the Dr. told us was better than other things he could have found (tumor). 10 days at UC Davis and months of IV antibiotic and years of follow up, and she has never had any problems from the brain trauma -- she is smart, kind, loving, beautiful, strong. Truly a life changing time for me, and our whole family. Puts things very quickly in perspective on what matters. She is my everything. My girl. So in love with her. Here are some photos from that time...gives me chills remembering how scary it was. I got to know and love God very well during that time, so grateful for that too.
