Bogus ration card racket busted, 2 held. PUNE: The Yerawada police has busted a fake ration card racket following the arrest of a man and a woman. Police recovered 29 fake ration cards and fake stamps of the foodgrain distribution office from them. The suspects have been identified as Savita Bhoi of Ramwadi and Ganesh Kamble of B T Kawade Road. The Yerawada police team led by senior inspector Kishor Jadhav made the arrests. Jadhav told TOI that on June 26, Shashikala Jagtap, a resident of Kharadi noticed that the number of her ration card was incorrect. "When she went to Yerawada zonal office, the officials found the card and the stamps on it to be fake," he said. He said the FDO officials approached the Yerawada police station and lodged the complaint against Bhoi. "During the interrogation, Bhoi revealed that Kamble had given her the ration cards," Jadhav said. Police then arrested Kamble and seized stamps, 29 fake ration cards, including five blank ration cards, from his house. Jadhav said Kamble has revealed the names of three more suspects, who helped him in preparing the fake ration cards. TOI
