Boilermakers (12-month fixed-term contract) Cullinan Diamond Mine Cullinan Diamond Mine is situated in the town of Cullinan, 30km east of Pretoria. The mine is currently mining at a depth of 747 metres using mechanised trackless block-cave mining. Boilermakers (12-month fixed-term contract) The incumbents will be responsible for fabrication, repair, maintenance and guarding of the trackless fleet allocated to him/her. Tasks and responsibilities: • Fabricate steel structures for construction • Plant maintenance • Control subordinates • Pass all relevant in-house training • Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done • Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence to and compliance with Security and the Company’s SHE objectives • Work overtime, and be on standby and available for call-outs should the need arise. Minimum requirements: • Qualified Boilermaker with Trade Certificate at a recognised/accredited institution – Section 13 preferable • Valid driver’s licence (EB/08) • Minimum of 5 years’ post-trade test experience as a Boilermaker • Knowledge of conveyors, screens and general plant equipment – please indicate on CV. Other skills/competencies: • Ability to communicate in English (written and verbal) and one other official language • Pass Vienna Assessment Level 2 (test to be done on the Mine) • Ability to read construction drawings • Independent • Proactive thinking with ability to do own job planning and plan jobs in advance • High level of multi-skilling • Good team player.
