Bolt is the third fittest athlete in the world. Jamaican track and field superstar Usain Bolt has been rated the third fittest athlete in sports today in a list compiled by Sports Illustrated. Using a 40 point rating system the list features sportsmen from all corners of the athletic world who were then rated in four categories; speed, strength, agility and endurance. ‘For the professional male athlete it is the very foundation of success. But even among the pros, some athletes stand head and sculpted shoulders above the rest,’ states SI. James scored a perfect 10 in every category (Speed: 10 + Strength: 10 + Agility: 10 + Endurance: 10 = TOTAL: 40) to pip Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo (Speed: 10 + Strength: 8.5 + Agility: 10 + Endurance: 10 = TOTAL: 38.5) and the worlds fastest man Bolt (Speed: 10 + Strength: 9 + Agility: 8.5 + Endurance: 9 = TOTAL: 36.5). Boxer Floyd Mayweather and Dez Bryant of the Dallas Cowboys complete the top 5. The top 10 further includes Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Jon Jones and swimmer Michael Phelps. The findings according to Sports Illustrated show that ‘the fittest of the fittest comes in all shapes and sizes and from all corners of the athletic world’. The list comprises athletes from 7 different sports with the NFL being the most represented sport with 17 of the 50 spots easily beating football and the NBA.
