Bomb Run = Dropped again! WOW I guess there are just a wicked amount of fast runners here in Austin. Was able to hold on for about 6 miles through some nasty hilly sections and then just like sand slipping through the hand, I found myself spit out the back as the pace increased. My arms and legs were full of lactic acid saying hello there. Soon I would be chicked as well adding to the pain. :-) As I struggled to keep going, I managed to see my wife on her power walk. As I passed her, she wondered if I saw her and I wondered how slow I looked her. I felt like I was pushing through mud. Later when we had a chance to catch up, Kathleen Crandall said I looked like I was motoring, but the group in front looked like they were motoring more. :-) I figure it is going to take me another month or so before I can hang with these guys. Most if not all of them are in race shape doing races just about every weekend, so their speed is already there. Normally it would take me about 4 races or so before I felt fast.
