Bomb scare at PDP National Secretariat What would have resulted to a stampede at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja on Friday was averted, as staff ran helter skelter over alleged bomb threat by a faceless group. Top party officials , including National Working Committee (NWC) members and Directors, all quickly drove out of the building located at the Zone 5, Wuse district after they were told of the purported plan by some individuals to attack the secretariat. A source said there was a report of a possible threat to the secretariat which was said to have been planned for Friday. A Director in the party, who received the message, reportedly relayed it to the necessary quarters within the leadership. Both the party Chairman,,Alhaji Bamanga Tukur and the new National Secretary of the party, Prof Adewale Oladipo were not in office as at the time of the incident Presently, more security personnel have been deployed while more sand bags were being added to the ones already mounted at the main entrance to the secretariat. The party is yet to officially respond to the situation. -DAILYPOST
