Bonjour, mes amies! Whew. My feet are beat but happy - TopicsExpress

Bonjour, mes amies! Whew. My feet are beat but happy nonetheless. I bought them a treat so lifes sweet, figuratively + literally even though I didnt buy a cupcake. My taste buds werent awake yet but the rest of me was, Google map on my phone ready to take me on todays adventure. Funny thing was that the two highlights werent on the list. We know how that being in the flow works by now + its awesome. Today has been more of a shopping day than anything. Part of where Im at in my life now is less stuff, more experiences but there are basics that must be had (today...cotton balls, razors, scotch tape, bébé wipes, extra converter) + then theres the occasional WTF?! splurge (shoes!). I did a little of both today. First spontaneous stop was at Repetto, home of ballerina shoes extraordinaire...first the ones for real ballerinas + then for the street twirlers. Every color imaginable. I already have a pair of the heeled (bien sür!) ballerinas in sparkly (bíen sür!) black. I was intrigued not only by the shoes + tutus. My eye caught a dressing table with lights + a can of Elnett hairspray. My fave. I asked the wonderful Ivana who was patiently assisting me including helping me with my French what that was all about. She told me that if you buy a chignon kit, theyll put your hair up in a bun. Vraiment? Really. I picked one up at the Palais Garnier the other day. Ivana told me that counts...just need to bring it with me + voilà! Ill come back later for a bun. And maybe for another pair of shoes. Im addicted. I wanted to buy a pair of toe shoes but they wouldnt let me because I havent been on them in a zillion years...okay, not that long...37 years...thats long! I basked in the stores energy, recalling the best memories of my childhood. Ballet was my outlet. My brother Dennis got cornered in middle school by a couple of mean girls giving him a hard time because I was taking ballet. It wasnt a cool thing to do. But fast forward to high school + the same two girls took classes as exercise + guess who was assisting the teacher? Ha! Karma! They were shocked to see me in that class, the freak. LOL Anyhow, a big thanks to Jessica + Ivana at Repetto for letting me stay on site talking with them for awhile. Its always nice to not only be in an awesome place but to be with awesome people too. The other surprise shop was a regular papeterie. I was pulled in + left with a yoga mag in French (shocking considering Im in France!), a magic marker 10-pack that is really 20 because both ends have color, some glitter + two Flair pens. My next stop, thanks to mon amie Kimberly for putting it on my radarscreen, was Kilo. Its an amazing vintage shop where you pay by the kilo. Unfortunately the two items I bought were heavily beaded. But still. A steal. Merci K! And merci to the fabulous Coretin for helping me with my purchases + French. Time to get ready for the candlelit chateau experience. Im getting too used to hanging out at those special places. Ha! Bon week-end, gorgeous! xoxo
