Bonnie Ann Kromka asked Opinion needed Please.... Is it possible for there to be an 1 alpha trainer and a non alpha person within the same family? We have 2 Great Danes.... Mini-Me 6 female, Elmer 5 male(was special needs foster (now our forever boy) neither listen to my hubby very well on or off leash but both have come to understand 1.I am walking them they are not walking me 2. when it is time to do business they do it on my command not thinking about other things. 3. When I say sit I mean sit 4. rules are not to be broken.... I have never used physical discipline, never crated for discipline, and praise when training goes OK maybe not exactly the way I wanted but still end on a good note with or without treats. 5. I have away told them I AM THE ALPHA dog here not you. They loving gentle dogs so I think I have done an OK job but hubby is another story..... they think he is NOT the alpha dog and do act up sometimes even tho he isnt physical with them.
