Book 17: NIght Film by Marisha Pessle. Wow - what a ride! Creepy film director (think: Roman Polanski meets Rob Zombie with a little Quentin Tarantino thrown in) disappears. But worse, his 24-year old daughter seemingly commits suicide. A reporter who had been discredited earlier for accusing the director of various atrocities is on the trail. He meets up with two odd 20-somethings who help him try to figure out aA) if the girl committed suicide and if so, why? B) Was the director actually involved in witchcraft and pedophilia? C) Where IS the mysterious director? It gave me nightmares. Yes, I loved it!
