We have an opening as a full time Bookkeeper/Accounting Manager. This position is responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of our financial recordkeeping, including recording financial transactions, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciling bank statements, and providing information for annual tax forms. Primary responsibilities include: Preparing financial statements and reports, including the profit and loss statement and balance sheet Pay bills and maintain ledgers Receive, approve, and/or decline invoices Track assets Assist outside accountants with tax return preparation Code payables and input Handle bank deposits and receipts of money Collect unauthorized invoice deductions Audit and pay Broker Commissions Reconcile bank accounts Conduct invoice activities and pay vendors for delivered materials Provide inventory support Oversee loans Generate 1099s and W-2s Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested and/or other job duties as assigned Experience and skills required: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger and financial reports Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism Knowledge of computerized accounting Knowledge of state and federal requirements for processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns Prior experience in business management preferred Please send resume with salary history to the attention of Human Resources, Bennett Mineral Company, PO Box 28, Walkerton, VA 23177, or fax to 804-769-0546 with cover letter.
