Born in Mount Olive, Butler County, Alabama, he moved to Georgiana, where he met Rufus Payne, a black street performer who gave him guitar lessons in exchange for meals or money. Payne had a major influence on The Lovesick Blues Boy later musical style. Hiram King Williams or HANK Sr. as I prefer to call him is the longest lived Country Music Sensation of the last century. His name and Country Music both mean the same thing--Pure Hearted Storytelling. Today this Iconic Legend would have been 90 years old. Now, he has been gone more than 60 years, but his legacy will without doubt continue Til God Comes And Gathers His Jewels.
