Born in the Philippines, I’ve been living in Vienna for 23 years - TopicsExpress

Born in the Philippines, I’ve been living in Vienna for 23 years now and some members of my family before me for more than forty years already. And each day when I wake up, I thank the Almigthy for giving me this chance to be spending my life in a country as beautiful, peaceful, and as stable as Austria. I am a playwright and a stage director, been honing my craft for the last 16 years and more. In my profession, one can’t be in a better place than Austria for this country breathes and thrives on art and culture. I was previously a flight attendant for a major airline before joining my family here and that opportunity has exposed me literally well enough to the different races, religions, cultures and traditions of this world, having lived in various countries during my years of flying. However, there is no place like Vienna! Yes, we may be paying high taxes but it is worth every cent we shell out for it comes back to us in so many varied forms because we have a highly functional government that works for its people, a society composed of citizens who are warm and friendly, civilized and mostly educated. It is a place where there is real dignity of labor, where the rich, the middle class and the limited poor enjoy the same benefits. Should I be given another chance to choose where to live, I shall choose Vienna all over again, or Austria for that matter! One of the few places left on earth where it is ideal to raise a family because of its quality of life, and WHERE one can still walk down the streets at night, breathe the clean air, enjoy the splendour of the surroundings and NOT fear for your life! To those who may be thinking otherwise or bear negative remarks about Vienna, I’d say live here first and then pass judgement later! I am rather positive that you’ll soon realize that here is a far better place than where you live rightnow!!!
