Born on this day in 1755 in Coventry, Connecticut, the brave young patriot Nathan Hale. Early in our War of Independence, the courageous young man volunteered for a spy mission in British-held New York... He was caught by the British and hanged for the crime on September 22, 1776. He was only 21. He is remembered today for his last words - this honorable role model for the Glorious Cause is recorded as having said "I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country."
