Bosnia flooding triggers landslides, unearths mines. Entire towns and villages have been laid waste by floodwaters that triggered 3,000+ landslides across the Balkans. Tens of 1000s have been forced from their homes. Per AP, Authorities organized a frenzied helicopter airlift to get terrified families to safety before the water swallowed their homes. Many were plucked off rooftops. Three months worth of rain fell in only 3 days. Not only are Serbias biggest coal-fired power plant & a nearby mine partly under water, but fears have surfaced about an estimated 1M land mines planted during the war of 1992-95 which could be carried downstream.
