Both my dogs are dealing with health issues right now. Julip has a grade 3 heart murmur and just got over a double ear infection, and Serena is back on steroids because her autoimmune disease is kicking back in. Her liver is not functioning well. I feel like a vet administering all these medications several times a day. Heres the interesting thing, though: I *thought* I saw Serenas thighs getting kind of jaundice-y and yellow and she had bruising (blood clotting) on her chest. When I brought her in, the doc and I could see neither. Still, I asked her to run some blood tests to make sure. The doctor came back in and said, You should always trust your instincts - you were right. She put her on prednisone immediately with a samE for her liver function. Cue insatiable ravenous dog now. (And yes, I know they are expensive, but I dont have kids. My dogs are the closest thing I have to children, and Ill do whatever it takes to keep them healthy and comfortable.)
