Brand Laloo! I have to borrow this parlance from Capitalist terms - TopicsExpress

Brand Laloo! I have to borrow this parlance from Capitalist terms lest I would be branded. Laloo is an interesting personality. I take privilege to call him interesting because I know nobody would have guts to question me when the top seat of education in India, the IIM having asked him to give a lecture on how he turned round the Railways and put it on to ‘surplus mode’ year after year. I adopt this cautious approach because I know there are as many Laloo baiters as Modi stooges. Fortunately, even God could not help Laloo and Jagannath Mishra. Rabri Devi was praying to Hanuman and Mishra was holding ‘Bhagvad Gita’ in the court. What a joke! I began to like Laloo when he stopped the Rath Yatra of Advani in Bihar. Since then his political graph began marching upwards. Any other politician other than from the Left camp cannot lay claims to secular credentials as Laloo. A blemishless record from that angle. Whatever he talks was dismissed as rubbish by the upper caste Indian middle class till he headed the Railway ministry. Hypocrisy of the middle class is always revealed by its two extreme positions. This is because the ideals it wants its politicians to follow will never be followed by it. That is why it adopts two different yardsticks to two different people on the same issue. Laloo is now convicted. His secular character has nothing to do with corruption and quite rightly so. This should send a strong warning message to all the politicians and the bureaucrats in the country. The conviction must send fear among the politicians. Time has come for taking a bold and upright stand on corruption. It is natural to think when a 37 crore corruption is not tolerated, justice will soon prevail on 2G scam, coal gate, Commonwealth games scam, IPL scam, Railway scam, mining scam, oil exploration scam. If Justice is delivered on all these scams before Elections in 2014, only the Left parties will be in the fray to contest in the elections. Two mangoes in a single throw! One we can elect honest politicians. Two, the corporates who are the fountainhead of corruption will also be sent to jail getting rid of the ugly economic policy that is presently followed.
