Bravo, my new foster dog. i brought him home in a carrier Wed., left him in the living room for about ten minutes then i put up an x-pen in the middle of my living room and opened the carrier and let him come and go as he pleased in the safety of the x-pen. everyone touched noses and seemed fine. after about half a day, i let him out and he danced and wagged, and wagged, and wagged his tail and got along with everyone. he was acting like he was finally home and he was grateful for it. i pointed my finger at him and told him, dont do that, i cant keep you. and the little beastie licked my finger and jumped on my lap and cuddled with me. *sigh* i think he finally thinks he has found a safe home after living a full life of nothing but abuse or neglect or both. i look at his poor sunken eye and i feel guilty that i did not adopt him two years ago (i believe its been that long since he was adopted then was lost.) but i cant save them all, i already have a house and yard filled with old, unwanted, brain damaged, antisocial, escape artist, man hatting, bad teeth, food aggressive, and lumpy dogs. oh, and three bottle feeding puppies and a stranger hating dog i hope to tame and find a home or rescue for. no complaints, let me tell you, i just dont think i can keep another dog when i cant even properly take care of the ones i have, with all their teeth problems and lumps (yes, the older guys and girls.)
